Why You Should Make a New Year’s Resolution in 2018

Fun Fact: I have never made a New Year’s resolution. At least not one that I actually remember making. It’s not that I have anything against the idea (I do set goals, people!) but after working in gyms during high school and college, I’ve learned that very few actually follow through on New Year’s resolutions. Like, less than 1%. They’re pretty much bullshit.

But this year might be different.

Saturn moves into Capricorn on December 19th for three loooong ass years. Saturn is about putting in work, building foundations and securing your future. Saturn makes goals. Saturn (ideally) meets those goals. Saturn is Capricorn’s ruler, meaning Saturn will have even more stabilizing power than usual. If you’re willing to commit and put in work for the next three years, you can pretty much guarantee that you’ll exceed whatever goals you make.

On the flip side, Saturn can procrastinate. Saturn can worry. Saturn can be fearful. That means three years of procrastinating and worrying will bring you…um, no thanks! I don’t know about you, but if I’m going to harness any cosmic energy it’s going to be positive.

Believe me when I say that *now* is the perfect time to set long term goals. Start by reassessing the last few years… Did you meet your goals? Did you hold yourself back? Did you procrastinate? Moving forward, what goals are you ready to commit to? How will create security for yourself? What kind of empire are you trying to build?

Think about it…then do it.
