Dec-7-2017: Yes, It’s December & Leo season has passed. I was going through unpublished posts (I have lots of those) and this one still felt relevant so I’m publishing it now. Enjoy!

Writing has taken a back seat this summer. I wish I could blame work or all of the fun summer activities, but I’ve pretty much made a conscious effort to not write. Don’t ask me why, but I just haven’t been in the mood.

Day after day, I’d go to write (or type) and I’d be like Nah this doesn’t feel creative enough. What does creative enough even mean? Why is the act of creating not enough? Why do we think of creativity as an adjective instead of the verb it truly is?

Now it’s Mid-August and I’m at dinner thinking about the upcoming eclipse (because that’s what normal people do, right?) and I’m wondering if I should even bother writing about it. I just can’t convince myself that my writing will be any more creative or exciting than what’s already out there.

Deep down, I know I’m wrong. Deep down, my 5th house Sun is screaming at me to just make SOMETHING. ANYTHING. WE’RE DYING HERE. Seriously, a fifth house Sun will put out their own flame when they don’t create. It feels like you’re disappearing. It’s awful.

So in typical Paige fashion, I grab a fortune cookie and beg the Universe to give me a sign through the most cliche sign-giving device ever made. Please let something on this piece of paper push me forward. I just need one push.

And the Universe showed up.

You are capable, competent. Creative. Careful. Prove it. Pretty fucking accurate. (Besides the careful part because I’m pretty much the opposite of careful.)

And if you needed a sign, well, here it is. Create something. Today.
